The Copy all data configurations copy the source data for all layers in the map (including layers that reference registered data sources) to the server. Any subsequent updates to those data sources are reflected in their corresponding web layers.

The Reference registered data configurations create web layers that reference registered data sources. You can change some of these properties if you configure the web map. The configuration you select determines the types of web layers that are created with the web map and their default properties.

When you share a web map, you provide required item details, select a configuration, choose a portal location, and set sharing properties. Share a web map using a selected configuration You can monitor the status of your sharing job in the Job Status pane.
Create a custom map to share with public pro#
You can continue to work with ArcGIS Pro while your sharing job is processing. In this case, your account must also have privileges to publish web layers.

Web maps can be opened in ArcGIS Pro as well as in standard web browsers. In ArcGIS Pro, you can author your map with existing web layers or with data layers that are shared as web layers when you share your web map. A web map is an interactive display of geographic information you can use to tell stories and answer questions. With ArcGIS Pro, you can share your maps as web maps to your active portal.
